Beginners Strength & Balance Program – Bruce
Our Beginners Strength & Balance program at Arthritis ACT is designed to improve overall strength, stability and coordination in a supportive and engaging environment. Each session begins with a 10 minute warm-up, incorporating exercises and challenging games that enhance strength, balance and coordination. The 40 minute main session focuses on full-body strength and conditioning using a variety of equipment, including dumbbells, Thera Bands, Flex Bars, steps, pedal bikes and obstacle balance equipment, as well as other available equipment. The session concludes with a 5 minute cool-down, featuring full-body stretches to promote flexibility and recovery. This program is perfect for those looking to build confidence, prevent injuries and enhance overall movement quality.
No prior gym experience is needed. This program is designed for all ages and abilities, with exercises that can be adapted to suit individual needs. Whether you’re new to exercise or looking to improve your strength and balance, this class provides a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
Advanced Circuit-Based Program – Weston Creek
Our Weston Strength & Balance – Advanced Circuit-Based Program is a dynamic and engaging class designed for individuals looking to challenge their strength, balance and coordination in a fun and supportive environment. This one hour circuit-based session, run and supervised by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, targets full-body strength and conditioning through a structured and progressive workout.
The program involves:
- Advanced balance exercises
- Obstacle balance circuits
- Interactive coordination games such as badminton and quoits.
- Leg strength exercises and recovery stretch exercises
- Small group program of 2-16 participants
- Motivating group atmosphere providing a solid foundation for exercise therapy.
Advanced Strength & Balance Program – Bruce & Pearce
Our Advanced Strength & Balance program is designed for individuals with previous gym experience or a solid foundation in exercise. This program focuses on building higher-level strength, balance and coordination through progressive and challenging movements. Each session begins with a 10 minute warm-up, incorporating bodyweight exercises to activate key muscle groups and enhance stability. The 40 minute main session includes full-body strength and conditioning exercises using a variety of equipment, such as dumbbells, Thera Bands, Flex Bars, Steps and Medicine Balls, as well as other available equipment. In addition, there is a 5 minute dedicated balance station, completed as a group, focusing on static, dynamic and anticipatory balance exercises to further enhance stability and control. The session concludes with a 5 minute cool-down, featuring full-body stretches to promote flexibility and recovery.
This program introduces more complex movement patterns and higher-intensity exercises, making it ideal for those looking to take their strength and balance training to the next level. Participants should have a good base of strength, coordination and balance to ensure they can safely and effectively perform the advanced exercises.
